99 Chicken…deliciousness

I went to 99 Chicken last night in Santa Clara, and boy was it good!  99 Chicken is a Korean restaurant that specializes mostly in chicken but also has other Korean dishes like Kimchi Fried Rice, Kimchi Tofu, and Tofu Soup.  The place isn’t very big, but it’s a nice place to hang out to eat and talk with people.  I also found it cool that all over the restaurant, there are pictures of customers posted up covering the walls so you can see people enjoying their meals.

We got the regular fried chicken (3 plates of 10 pieces), kimchi tofu, and kimchi fried rice.  The chicken came out blazing hot right from the deep fryer.  They have this special sauce and salt to go with the chicken and makes the chicken that much better.  The kimchi fried rice and kimchi tofu were also really good, although the chicken was definitely the star of the night.

Overall, this is a fun place to go with a group of people so you can share a lot of chicken.  The meal also goes great with beer, so I recommend that.  However, it IS fried chicken so I wouldn’t go too often.  Enjoy!

  1. I love this hole-in-the-wall place. The chicken is addicting, especially with that spicy, sticky, sweet sauce. And what a bargain price, too!

  2. So, I went to this place with high hopes like a few months ago, and I have to say that I was somewhat disappointed. If you come down to LA, you should check out Kyochon or Bonchon. Some of the best “korean” fried chicken I’ve had.
